LED Flowers By BW Architects At Tribeca Film Festival
Posted by Amit Soni on 30th Apr 2013
New York based design studio BWArchitects blew away visitors to the 2013 Tribeca Film Festival with a stunning LED lights installation.
A sea of delicate pink, purple and white flowers were assembled by hand using steel rods and translucent paper. Each flower holds a total of 1,600 LED lights, anchored to painted wooden bases.
The flowers were then installed up the steps of the courthouse in New York where the festival was being held – the evening breeze causing them to gently sway in the wind.
The different rod lengths meant that the flowers swayed at varying speeds, adding to the spectacle – giving them a natural look.
Justin Weiner of Studio Kenji created this video showing the installation in action.
