This Mean Well HLG-480H 240V-24V Transformer from Mirrorstone is a 480W driver that features dual mode constant voltage and constant current output. It operates from 24 – 240V and has a completely fanless design.

With metal housing, this 228mm x 68mm x 38.8mm is protected with an IP67 rating to be used both in- and outdoors. It also features 3-in-1 dimming and smart timer dimming for complete innovation.

Typically, this transformer is set to last a whopping 62,000 hours and can even operate in a range of temperatures from -40 – 90°C.

What LED Driver Do You Need

An LED Driver, referred to as transformer or a power supply, is a self-contained power supply. It will take the electricity from your mains and step it down to the voltage required to be compatible with your chosen LED Tape.

Coming in many shapes and sizes, not all will be suitable for every tape. When choosing the appropriate driver, you need to consider the power outlet you’re using and the wattage of the strip lights.

Mains-Ready drivers, like this Mean Well one, are designed for more permanent installations and can be wired directly into an existing lighting circuit.

To calculate the load of your strips and which driver is needed, you will need to multiply the wattage per metre by the total number of metres you intend to run off a single driver.

For example, you will be able to run approximately 30m of the 24v RGB Colour LED Strip Lights, 60 x 5050SMD, 14.4W with this 480W driver.
