Add some great effects to your home with single colour LED strip lights manufactured by Mirrorstone. Perfect for use in under plinth and shelving lighting, the 4.8w LED strip light is perfect for achieving your desired effect.

Each fully flexible strip has a self-adhesive 3M backing so you can stick it directly onto the surface you're looking to install it on. However, please note that the IP67 LED Tape does not come with the 3M Adhesive. They can also be cut down to every 50mm making it very simple to get the strips down to a size that you need. Due to the wide range of surfaces that the LED Strip Lights are stuck to, we unfortunately cannot guarantee the adhesive on all surfaces.

Did you know that all of our LED Tape is dimmable? Simply use alongside a dimmable driver to alter the brightness!

Please note that all IP67 and IP68 tape comes in lengths of up to 5m max, and will not fit in any of our aluminium profiles.

IP65 tape comes in maximum lengths of up to 25m, and will be soldered tape to tape every 5m for any lengths over 5m. Although 25m lengths are available in this way, there is no guarantee that it can be ran continuously due to power drop. Please get in touch with us if you require further information about this.

IP20 tape may or may not come soldered tape to tape, as this depends on how it arrives to us from our suppliers.

IP20

Main usage of IP20 is under plinth and cabinet light as well as general backlighting. It is also usable for kitchen applications.

IP65

IP65 is a splashproof strip and is mainly used in bathroom installations to protect the strip from steam. IP65 can also be used in the kitchen to protect the strip from and steam from cooking or a kettle.

IP67

Bespoke Cutting Service And Maximum Lengths Of Strip

Here at Wholesale LED Lights we offer a bespoke, cut to length service and are the only LED lighting company in the UK to do so. The 4.8w/m Single Colour LED strip light can be cut every 50mm (5cm). We offer up to three cuts free of charge. If you would rather cut the LED strips yourself so you can get exact lengths or don't know the lengths you need yet then you can do that as well.

Our LED strip lights run at 12 volts so are prone to voltage drop after a certain length. Voltage drop is where LED strips lose power after a certain linear meterage. The lengths vary by strip and cannot be lengthened by using a more powerful power supply.

Like our 7.2w/m single colour LED strip light, you can run up to 12m of 4.8w/m LED strip light in one length.  We can also extend the length of the wire coming off of the strip lights at your request with some 2 core cable.

All LED Tape is priced per metre. If you purchase any amount of LED strip lights then we will send it out as one full, uninterrupted length e.g. 1 x 3m rather than 3 x 1m.

Powering Your LED Strips

Being 12 volts, they require a 12v power supply for them to work. We have a wide range of power supplies that can be used with our strip lights such as power adapters and dimmable power supplies.

Power supplies also come in a range of powers to accommodate for longer lengths of strips. For example, our LED drivers range in powers from 6w all the way up to 240w. We have prepared a list below so you can get an idea of the power you'll need:

■ 1 Metre - 4.8 Watts;

■ 3 Metres - 14.4 Watts;

■ 5 Metres - 24 Watts;

■ 10 Metres - 48 Watts;

■ 20 Metres - 96 Watts;

■ 45 Metres - 216 Watts.

Please note that when selecting power supplies for your LED Strip Lights it is advised that you should leave around 10% load on your power supply to maximise the efficiency, heat management and lifespan.

Managing The Lifespan And Providing The Finishing Touches

Our LED Strip Lights all come with a life expectancy of 50,000 hours which equates to over a decade! This lifespan can be changed dependant on the a range of external such as factors. The main factors that influence lifespan change in LED Strips is the temperature where is it mounted, the IP Rating  and the surface where the strips are mounted.

Favourable Conditions

Unfavourable Conditions

Cool air temperature surrounding the LED strip lights.

Warm air around the strip and in the room.

Mounted on a surface that dissipates the heat efficiently.

Mounted onto a surface that struggles to dissipate heat efficiently (e.g. wood).

Using IP rating only where necessary.

Excessive use of IP ratings where unnecessary.

If the strip lights are mounted in all favourable conditions then you are looking up to a 50% extended lifespan of 75,000 hours!

We do also sell aluminium profiles for LED strip lights to aid you in extending the lights lifespan. Not only do these aluminium profiles aid the life of the strip lights, but they can also give the installed strips a better finish, coming with the option of a clear or frosted diffuser.

Please note that IP65 strip lights that are fitted internally without aluminium profiles are not covered by the 2 year warranty. Replacements will be charged at 50% of the retail price when bought with aluminium profiles.

Adding Depth To Your Installation With Dimming Functionality

Our full range of single colour 12 volt and single colour 24 volt strip lights come with the option of being dimmable.  This is achievable by one of two ways, either via mains voltage dimming or low voltage.

Mains dimming is as it sounds and is the most popular form of dimming LEDs. To mains dim your LED strip lights, you will need a compatible LED dimmer switch and a dimmable LED driver. This will then allow for you to dim the strip lights from a wall mounted dimmer switch.

You can also dim the strips by low voltage. Low voltage dimming doesn't require a wall mounted dimmer switch and is generally used with a handheld remote. For low voltage dimming, you will need to install an LED driver or power adapter and a single colour dimmer.

Extended 5 Year Warranty

All of our Mirrorstone products come with  2 year warranty as standard to give you coverage on your lights. Our range of LED spotlights, LED light bulbs and LED tape are all extendable for a warranty of up to 5 years. This warranty is extendable within the first 90 days of your order.

  • This LED strip was just what I… 5

    Posted by Barry Gibson on 2nd Jun 2022

    This LED strip was just what I needed to add some extra light to my workbench. The 60 LEDs per meter provide a good amount of light, and at 4.8 watts, it’s really energy-efficient. I was able to cut the strip to the exact length I needed, and the installation was a breeze. The adhesive backing stuck well to the metal surface, and I haven’t had any issues with it coming loose. The light is bright and even, making it much easier to see what I’m working on. Overall, I’m really pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone in need of some affordable, easy-to-install lighting.

    Used this LED strip to add some under-cabinet lighting in my kitchen, and it’s made a big difference. The light is bright enough to illuminate my countertops, making cooking and cleaning much easier. The strip was easy to install, and I like that it’s low-profile and doesn’t take up much space. The adhesive backing stuck well to the underside of my cabinets, and I didn’t need any extra mounting hardware. My only minor complaint is that I wish the light was a bit warmer, but that’s just personal preference.

    Excellent product! Installed in my closet, and it makes finding things so much easier.

    I used this LED strip to add some lighting to my wardrobe, and while it works fine, it’s not as bright as I hoped it would be. The installation was easy enough, and I like that it’s low power, but I feel like I need another strip to get the level of brightness I was looking for. The light is even and doesn’t flicker, which is nice, but I just wish it was a bit more powerful. For the price, it’s a decent product, but if you’re looking for something really bright, you might want to look for a strip with more LEDs per meter.
