Design Duo Pink+Gruen’s Pixl Tree Lights Up The Fusion Festival

Those who visited the Fusion Festival in Germany back in 2012 were given an absolute treat from Berlin-based design duo Pink+Gruen – a stunning nocturnal display of light and colour known as the PIXL TREE.
Also known as the Crystal Tree, it used a special LED supermodular hanging light system called PIXL SYS. It consisted of a series of diamond-shaped modules illuminated by colour changing LED lights. These were then operated by a DMX controller.
Located near Lake Muritz in Germany, the LED lights captivated audiences with an ever-changing array of colours and dynamic sequences – illuminating the night sky for a majestic display.
We imagine that those in attendance found the experience magical beyond words – like a scene from a fantasy movie.
The Fusion Festival is a music and arts event that’s held in north-eastern Germany annually. It started in 1997 and lasts 4 to 6 days. It’s characterised by its counterculture attitude.
Take a look at the video below to see how it was all put together for the festival.
