B15 LED Bulbs

Sidebar Sidebar Sidebar

LED light bulbs with mains voltage B15, also known as a small bayonet, fittings are commonly found in chandeliers and wall sconces. A direct replacement for your incandescent B15s, our B15 base lights use less energy and last up to 10 times longer than a traditional bulb.

Check out the video below to learn more about the differences between the B15 and the other fittings available:

They are available in both dimmable and non-dimmable options and in a wide range of shapes and styles including globes, candles and golf balls.

Why Change To LED Lighting

There are many reasons to make the switch. Firstly, it is easy. With our range of B15s it is possible to swap like-for-like. It should take you no more than a few minutes to actually change your bulbs, but the return on investment is huge.

Secondly, LEDs save money. Believe it or not, LED bulbs use up to 90% less energy than a standard filament light bulb. By using less energy they save you money on the cost of your electricity, and over many months and years this adds up to a lot, so definitely worth it!

Finally, they last longer. A lot longer! An average LED light has a life expectancy of 50,000 hours. This is almost 10 times longer than a traditional bulb, and 5 times longer than an old energy saver (CFL). Combine this with the fact that they save you money on your electricity bill and making the switch starts to make a lot of sense.

Getting The Right Bulbs

From the point of view of a customer can be hard buying LED lighting for the first time. But in many ways buying an LED light bulb is the same as it always was. If you are replacing like-for-like you need to make sure you are buying the correct fitting.

The fittings on light bulbs haven't changed and still use the same fitting codes. If you need a B15, or small bayonet, you are in the right place. If you're not sure, speak to our customer service team, or check out our how to buy LEDs guide.

You also want to make sure the bulb is bright enough. Traditionally you would do this by comparing the wattage, however is isn't as simple with LEDs. They run very efficiently, which means, even though their wattage is lower, they produce the same amount of light.

The easy way around this is to check the equivalent wattage, which we have kindly calculated for you (just see the product specs), or, if you're a bit more knowledgeable, you might want to look at the lumens.

Something new is colour temperature. With LEDs it is possible to select the actual colour of the light. Our bulbs are available in warm white and cool white. The names are fairly self-explanatory, but if you are still unsure take a look at our colour guide.

Ensure The Quality Of Your Bulbs

Making sure you buy a decent quality bulb is a difficult purchase decision. After all, how to you separate good from bad? One way is to look at the warranty. All of our LED light bulbs are manufactured by Mirrorstone Lighting, who are well established in this industry. Because we only deal with one supplier we are better able to ensure the quality control procedure implemented in the manufacture of our bulbs and keep our customers happy.
