Introducing Spectric

The brand new Spectric line of LED strip lights will massively improve your lighting experience. These strip lights bring more vivid lighting, with a greater lumens to energy expenditure ratio than ever before. The life expectancy has been increased, with a whopping 50,000 hours of usage delivering a versatile light every single time.

Areas To Install Your LED Strips And Varying Weatherproofing Options

When installing your LED strips, there are a few factors you need to consider for the installation such as light colour and waterproofing. These options can really effect both the life of strip and the whole mood of the room.

Mirrorstone LED strip lights come in a variety of colours such as green, blue and red. However, for most installations, the main colours selected are the three variations of white that we offer: warm white (3000K), daylight (4000K) and cool white (6000K).

Warm white is a colour that is closest to traditional halogen lights and provides that soft white effect. It is most recommended for use within living areas such as living rooms and dining rooms. It is also installed a lot in bedrooms and hallways due to its warmer colour. Rooms with more traditional decor also tend to have warm white installed and is generally better looking with the furniture.

Unlike warm white, cool white is a cooler, bright white. Generally it is mainly used in rooms which will require more light. It has more use in bathrooms due to its cooler colour. It is also used in rooms that have a very modern design to them to compliment the decor. Cool white is also used in offices and warehouses due to the colour it gives and is recommended there as well.

Between both colours, daylight sits as a solid middle ground due to its bright light colour whilst still remaining relatively Warm. Because of this, daylight is very versatile and usable across all installations including bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchens. It can be used in all styles of rooms but it generally suits modern styles better. Along with our 4.8w/m single colour LED strip lights, these are the only LED strip lights available in daylight.

Alongside the range of colours, there is also a variety of IP (waterproof) ratings available so you can install them nearly anywhere. The IP Ratings and the general use of them is listed in the table below:

IP Rating

Usage

IP20

IP20 is the least protected against any form of water and is only used for internal installations excluding the bathroom.

IP65

Strips that are IP65 rated come with a silicone coating to it and can with stand splashes and jets of water. IP65 is mainly used in bathrooms and in external installations where direct water would struggle to get to the strip.

IP67

Being surrounded by silicone, IP67 strip lights are used predominantly externally as they can withstand idle water of up to 1m.

IP68/IP68 Nano

Being fully submersible, IP68 and IP68 Nano LED Strip Lights can be installed nearly anywhere. With up to a 10m depth of submersing, this strip is installed in swimming pools and outdoor decorative features.

IP68 and IP68 Nano strips both have the same level of waterproofing, however, IP68 Nano differs in one large way. IP68 Nano comes with a hydrophobic silicone coating that makes is completely resistant to water. All our LED Tape is charged by the metre - when specifying the lengths you require, please round up to the nearest metre.

Get Bespoke Length Strip Lights With The UKs ONLY Cutting And Soldering Service

Like previously mentioned, these strip lights can be cut to 50mm. Along with all of the other variations of our LED tape, we offer a free of charge cutting service where we can make up your strips to the lengths you require.

These lengths can also have their own length of cable attached as long as you need so you can install drivers controllers etc. as far away as you need them to be.

The strip can only run up to 7.5m in one uninterrupted length, similar to the 9.6w/m single colour LED strip light.

All LED Tape is priced per metre. If you purchase any amount of LED strip lights then we will send it out as one full, uninterrupted length e.g. 1 x 3m rather than 3 x 1m.

Making Your Lights Power On

Our LED strip lights come in low voltage of either 12 volt or 24 volt. These strips can be powered by any of the wide range of power supplies that are available, from AC/DC power adapters to waterproof LED driver.

Our power supplies also come in a range of sizes to accommodate for as longer lengths as possible, the below guide allows you to see the power being used on specific lengths:

■ 1 Metre - 14.4 Watts;

■ 3 Metres - 43.2 Watts;

■ 5 Metres - 72 Watts;

■ 10 Metres - 144 Watts.

When Installing any LED power supplies, we advise that the load is 10% less than the maximum load as this extends the power supplies life, helps it manage its heat better, run more efficiently.

Extending Your LED Strips Life And Providing A Cleaner Finish

Our strip lights come with a life expectancy of 50,000 which, depending on use, can last for over a 15 years! Not only is this lifespan extremely long, you can also extend it out even further.

Favourable Conditions

Unfavourable Conditions

The LED Strip Lights are stuck onto a surface which dissipates heat very effectively.

If the strips are on a surface which doesn't dissipate heat very well then its life can shorten.

If the strips are in a cool environment then the temperature of the strips will be cooler.

If it's in a warm environment the strips could fail prematurely due to overheating.

Don't use IP ratings if unnecessary.

Over use of IP rating e.g. IP67 rather than IP65.

If you meet all of the favourable conditions then you can extend the life of your LED strips by up to 50%, meaning you get a lifespan of them of up to roughly 22 years!

To help you with the extension of the life, we sell aluminium profiles to fit LED strip lights that can help dissipate the heat more efficiently than most surfaces. Aforementioned, this dissipation greatly improves the lifespan of your strip lights. The profiles are also available with the option of coming with a clear or frosted diffuser to provide a complete finish to the installation.

The previously mentioned IP65 LED strips are not covered by any warranty if they are installed internally without being mounted into aluminium profiles. If the strips are installed without the profiles and fail in some manner within the first 2 years of purchase then replacements will be charged at 50% when bought with aluminium profiles, which are charged at full price.

Guidance On Installation And Increasing Your Warranty

If you want to cut and install your LED strip lights yourself, then you can do as they come with cutting & solder points at set intervals. We have guides on our own YouTube channel showing you how to cut and stick down your LED strip lights.

Most of our Mirrorstone Lighting LED lighting solutions come with a 2 year warranty as standard. You can also extend this warranty to 5 years on our full range of LED spotlights, LED light bulbs and LED tape. This warranty can only be extended within the 90 days of your purchase.
