3 Ways To Light Up Your Home Exterior

Posted by Emily Brown on 5th Dec 2018

Often forgotten about is the outdoors, which is why we have a huge range of outdoor LED light fittings for you to spruce up your home’s exterior. Incorporating outdoor lights doesn’t just provide a wonderful aesthetic, but also increases safety measures allowing you to relax comfortably.

The type of light you go for will be solely dependant on the application, so we have compiled a quick guide to using outdoor LED lighting for your home.

Safety First!

LED floodlighting is the perfect choice for general luminosity. Ranging from 900 lumens – 20,000 lumens, you could brighten any sized area. They are more effective than a traditional flood, as the brighter light is able to penetrate further into the darkness.

What many don’t realise is how much of an impact efficient lighting can have on the safety of your home. Leon Reid, a convicted burglar, provided London police with a typical checklist most burglars go off when looking for potential targets.

One of the main things that deterred these thieves is a well-lit exterior, especially when the light is paired with a PIR (passive infra-red) Sensor.

Don’t worry about the costs, as LEDs actually use 90% less electricity, in turn saving you the same amount off of your monthly bills with a full conversion.

It goes without saying that you can’t put a price on keeping your home and loved ones safe, but at least you can keep it affordable.

Aesthetic Second...

Revamp your home’s architecture with the help from LED wall lights. Luckily for you, all of our outdoor wall lights come fully equipped with their minimum ingress protection 44 rating. Essentially, this just means they will be protected against whatever the weather has to offer being splash resistant.

When it comes to wall lighting, there is none better than the Neosteel Stainless Steel Dusk Till Dawn Up/Down Wall Light GU10 IP44. Being our best seller, you’ll be assured of its high quality and stunning presence.

Requiring two GU10 bulbs, you will even be able to customise the fitting. You have the choice of either warm white (3000K) or cool white (6000K) bulbs, or for something that little bit extra, you can go for RGB.

To provide a healthy glow to your home, and the greenery surrounding it, warmer white tends to work best. Psychologically, it creates a cosy and inviting atmosphere while still brightening the home in a lovely manner.

Cooler white, however, can create a more modern atmosphere, even adding a lavish look to the home. It is crucial that you are careful with the lighting scheme should you choose cool white light - this is because it can alter the aesthetic aspect of any plants you may have.

In-Deck Lights

You will be able to make your garden the spectacle you have always wanted it to be with the help from our LED Decking Lights. With many expanding their gardens for extra space, it is key to add in these essentials.

Being unobtrusive, they won’t take up any space whatsoever, recess-fitting into the decking itself. They will highlight the area, providing extra safety, usually looking best when installed into the steps. This will allow you to navigate the area with ease, while also giving you the freedom to use the extra space more often than not.

Why not use this additional freedom to make a statement? Available in many different colour options including: blue, red, pink to standard white light, they will be the perfect choice to jazz up your outdoors.

Adding colour will provide a unique flair, and will make you want to use this space more. Thankfully, you will be able to keep using this area for years to come with their incredible lifespan of up to 17 years!
