Charming LED NightLight From Designer Adam Frank

Brooklyn based designer Adam Frank took the eco-friendly ethos and ran with it – what he came back with was both charming and stunning.
The ‘Lumen LED’ is actually a lamp that was born out of one of Frank’s previous works – the ‘Lumen Flame’. This involved illuminating a tree-shaped cut-out made of recycled materials using an oil lamp – casting a shadow on the wall it was facing.
In its latest iteration however, the oil lamp has been replaced by a single warm white LED light.
The LED flickers so that it imitates the look of a candle flame, making the shadow move in an organic manner. The effect of the candle flame is quite uncanny, and from a distance, you probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
Running on 4 x AA batteries, it easily lasts 800 hours – giving you about 6 months of use even if you use it every day.
It can be programmed to switch on and off at certain times of the day.
The finish is subtle yet spectacular – casting an image of the tree against the wall it’s facing. Obviously, the further away from the wall you place the light, the larger the shadow appears, and vice versa.
You can check out how it looks in the short video below.
We’d love to know what you think of the lamp – let us know in the comments below.
