What is 3-D secure?

To make your online shopping experience even safer, as of this week we are introducing a new level of security to our website called 3-D Secure. This takes the form of a 'Verified by Visa' service for Visa users and 'MasterCard SecureCode' for Mastercard users.
As such, you will find that when paying with credit or debit card you will have to complete an extra authentication step. The authentication is password-based. You will be asked to provide three arbitrary characters from a password that you will have agreed when signing up to the service. This should not be confused with the Card Security Code, which is a short numeric code printed on the card. The entire process usually takes no longer than a few seconds.
