We love LED strip lights here at Wholesale LED Lights. There are loads of reasons why, and just as many places where you can use them too. Our single colour LED strips form the basis of this.

Let’s dive a little deeper into the world of LED tape.

Why Are They So Good?

Part of the beauty of single colour LED tape is that it’s simple – they emit a colour of your choice and are dimmable too. And that’s pretty much all there is to them.

Each of our single colour strip lights comes with commercial grade 3M adhesive on the back, allowing you to mount them to nearly any surface, even if it isn’t necessarily flat!

This level of flexibility gives you a world of freedom – use it round corners, along the floor and up walls, or anywhere else that takes your fancy!

Of course extra lighting comes at a price, and will use additional electricity. That’s what makes our LED strip lights so good – they use hardly any power! Our single colour range starts at 4.8W and goes all the way up to 14.4W.

When you take into account how bright they can go, this is incredibly good consumption – using up to 90% less energy when compared to equivalent incandescent lights.

This is because LEDs convert a lot more of their energy into light as opposed to heat – up to 90%! Conventional halogens lose up to 80% of their energy to heat, explaining why they get so hot during use.

Less heat running through the internals of the strip light also grants them extraordinary lifespans – up to 50,000 hours! This is 2 times longer than fluorescent lights, and 20 times longer than halogen lights!

Where Can I Use Them?

The short answer is: anywhere you want! Our single colour LED tape is so versatile that the world really is your oyster – get as creative as you want!

Having said that, we do have some great suggestions that would add an extra dimension to your home lighting.

One popular area of use for our single colour LED strip lights is the kitchen plinth. This can help make your kitchen really well lit, and gives it a really nice modern look. We’d recommend either our 4.8W or 7.2W single colour tape for something like this, as these are ideal for mood lighting.

Staying in the kitchen, our single colour tape also looks great when used under cabinets. It has a similar effect to when they’re used on the kitchen plinth, helping create a modern aesthetic. This has a practical application too – if any of your cabinets are directly above worktop surfaces then this provides additional illumination for when you are cooking or preparing food.

You don’t need to worry about the strips getting wet either – a range of IP ratings ensure that they can stand up to anything from light splashes to fully submerged in water.

The great thing about the IP ratings too is that they allow you to use the single colour LED strips outside – where they can add to your garden lighting.

Our 7.2W single colour tape is perfect for this, as it provides enough light to be practical, but not so much that it becomes too strong for mood lighting.

A lesser used area but nonetheless one of our favourites is behind the TV. Our single colour tape looks really good here, creating a wash of colour on the wall directly behind your flat screen.

This makes your TV look like it’s glowing – and it really is a stunning effect. You’ll enjoy watching your favourite films a lot more with mood lighting like this!
