We wish shopping for lighting was as simple as ABC but, sometimes it can be a minefield. So, to help you out, we have put together a few factors to consider when buying your LED bulbs.

1. Check the Lumen Rating: You may see the word ‘lumen’ and not be sure as to what it means. All bulbs are given a lumen rating to denote how bright they will shine – the higher the rating, the brighter the bulb will be.

2. Choose a Colour Temperature: A majority of our bulbs come in two colours, Warm White (3000K) and Cool White (6000K). Each colour creates a different ambience in the space so must be selected carefully. Better for relaxed spaces, like bedrooms, Warm White is a softer, yellow-undertone colour and Cool White is an icier, sharper white – better for a kitchen.

3. Choose Your Beam Angle: A beam angle is the angle in which light illuminates from the bulb. Spotlight have a narrow angle to highlight one specific point or area, whereas a Floodlight will ‘flood’ the entire area with light.
