8W-18W Blue Edge Lit Round/Square LED Panel Light

The sturdy aluminium and plastic construction packs in plenty of lumens of brightness using just a small amount of power. This brings together a blend of performance and efficiency, making it perfect for offices or other commercial areas of use.

Requiring a 100mm sized cutting hole, it provides a wide 120^o beam angle, making it multipurpose and great for general illumination.

IP44 protection on the white glossy frame means it’s more than up for any tussles with water splashes or condensation, opening up the possibility of use within the kitchen or bathroom. Fine Tuning Your Panel Light

There are a couple of choices you have when buying your product.

The first of which is a choice of 2 colour temperatures – warm white (3000K) and cool white (6000K).

The difference between colour temperatures is simple – it’s the perceived warmth of the light given off by the LED.

Warm white replicates the shade of light given off by traditional incandescent, and helps create a snug feeling. This makes it great for places like the living room or the bedroom where you want to feel comfortable.

Cool white on the other hand is considerably brighter than warm, and gives off an icier coloured light. This makes it better suited for places like the kitchen or office. Cool white is also a popular option for feature and accent lighting.

The other choice you’ll have is whether you want dimmable LEDs in your panel light or not. This opens up further possibilities as far as how you want to use it are concerned.

Please do bear in mind however that if you do want dimmable light, you will need a trailing edge dimmer switch. Conventional leading edge dimmers cannot be guaranteed to work and could even damage the LEDs.

Switching To LED

One of the main reasons why you should make the change to LED lighting is the amount of money you’ll save.

As mentioned before, this panel light has a lifespan of up to 30,000 hours. If you’re using it for an average of 8 hours per day, that will give you over 10 years of use. This eliminates the need to buy replacement lights so frequently, giving you long term saving.

LEDs on the other hand improve this tenfold – with a massive 90% of their energy used for light. Only 10% is lost to heat, giving them a much cooler operating temperature.
